Introduction

Greetngs to anyone that stumbled upon this blogg. There are a few great bloggs out there when it comes to the subject of the Reds, but I figure I might as well throw my hat into the ring. This blogg will be a work in progress, so check in often and see what's happening. I'm not a sports writer but only a life long fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Watched my first Reds game when my Mother tuned in to the 72 World Series. Despite being from NH, I have been a Reds fan since. I have enjoyed the great years (75, 76 and 90), and have also enjoyed the other years as well (maybe not as much).

Initially I am going to ramble about the current Reds and my prospective and hopefully from there I will get some post that make for fun and informative dialog. Also, I'm not an English major by any means, so forgive my spelling and other mistakes. As I will do the same.

Current Reds as I see it.

First base:

If the Reds don't give Joey Votto the starting nod, they are foolish. He has shown he's capable at every level to include the majors. Hatteberg is a great guy and a below average option as far as every day. Hopefully he's trade bait at some point.

Second base: Obviously BP is the man, but I hope that he can improve upon his on base percentage. He's still young, so it can happen.

Third base: EE is showing signs of being the guy we all hoped he would be. His fielding improved tremendously and I believe the bat will only get better. Besides, he's right handed and the Reds need all the right handed bats they can get.

Shortstop: Gonzalez will hopefully be better in the field this season. His bat is okay, but lacks great on base percentage. His glove is key to improving the pitching staff.

Catching: Ross can throw out runners, but I don't think from my vantage point (MLB Extra innings), he's a great defensive catcher. His bat is that of a backup.

Well, that's it for now. If you have any thoughts or any thing else to share, please post something.

More to come.

Mike
